The Rector is the apex of the administrative and academic organization of the College. The compilations of other officers which are grouped under the close supervision of the Rector make the Rectory. These are the Rector’s immediate supporting administrative and secretarial staff, the Deputy Rector’s Office, the Internal Audit, the Directorate of Student Affairs, the Industrial Liaison and Placement Office, the Public Relations Unit and the Academic and Planning Unit. All these units have their distinct and peculiar functions and duties which are meant to assist the Rectory Department to adapt itself to new problems and changing circumstances in order to maintain continuity and consistency in decisions. They equally encourage the Rectory Department through the discharge of their duties to look ahead and foresee needs and problems which may arise from the effective implementation of decisions and programmes designed to uplift the mission and vision statement of the College.

DEPUTY RECTOR’S OFFICE

The Deputy Rector holds forth for the Rector whenever he is away, he represents him at occasions, meetings, amongst others when he is unable to attend. He also performs some other duties that may be assigned to him by the Rector from time to time. The Office of the Deputy Rector is also charged with the responsibility of overseeing the security of the College.

THE ACADEMIC AND PHYSICAL PLANNING UNIT

The Unit is headed by the Director and he is responsible to the Management in ensuring quality of all academic programmes mounted by the College. The Unit formulates guidelines, regulations and general development control of all physical development and use of housing, commercial and recreational sports on the Campus apart from supervising phased execution of the physical development projects to ensure congruency with the spirit and intent of the Campus Master and Strategic Plan

DIRECTORATE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

The Directorate of Student Affairs headed by a Dean takes care of the welfare of students of the College and oversees issues relating to accommodation of students, administration of documentation for the Bursary payment, oversight of student clubs and association affairs, facilitation of academic ceremonies such as matriculation and graduation. It also acts as a clearing house for students complaints and concerns, provides guidance and assistance to students in distress. The Directorate also manages community/students relationship through a number of approaches, initiatives and organs.

THE INDUSTRIAL LIAISON AND PLACEMENT OFFICE

The ILPO is charged with the responsibility of distributing call-up letters and preparing briefs of prospective Youth corps members apart from the preparation of master list, approved Academic Board graduating lists as well as compilation of marital list for concessional posting. The Office also distributes SIWES Handbooks, Logbooks and placement of students for SIWES programme.

THE INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

This Unit is headed by a Chief Internal Auditor [CIA] is involved in the certification of all payment vouchers, verification of goods and equipment supplied to various department and store in the College. It is also expected to check and reconcile all projects and domestic accounts, safeguard College assets, certify all payment vouchers apart from checking and monitoring of delivery of fuel, oil and diesel at various deports. It also carries out other duties as directed by the Rector.

THE PUBLIC RELATIONS UNIT

The Public Relations Unit of the College which is under the control of a Deputy Rector, carries out functions and duties that vary and diverse. These functions include planning, organizing and coordinating of events, protocol services, internal communication and external communication of the College activities. The Unit also anticipates, analyses and interprets public opinion, attitudes, future trends and issues which might have impact on any section, unit or department in the College. The Public Relations Unit equally establishes and maintains a two-way communication between the College, its component units and its various public in order to prevent misunderstanding and conflict.
